December lessons

After a wonderful trip to Ballito KZN this December, I have to admit I learnt a few things! So my holiday was not just restful – it was educational J
I learnt that it really doesn’t matter what size you are, you always have issues!
I learnt that no matter how big you are, you can still have fun and no-one else really cares what size you are, so might as well enjoy yourself!
I learnt that I really shouldn’t rely on Dillon to carry anything – day 1 cost us 3 towels, 2 baggies, 1 TShirt and 1 Spade – stirring a slush puppy is way more important than carrying a bag :-/
I learnt that no matter how fancy a hotel, or a town, Jozi can teach them how to pour a strawberry daiquiri!
I learnt that no matter how well I drive I will not be able to drive my car up a drive way that I can almost not walk up!
I learnt that you should not put too much bubble bath in a spa bath…it will allow you to have your first white Christmas!
I learnt that even if there are fittings on a wall almost inaccessible to the people who must use it, it does not mean my 3 year old cannot find it and detach it!
I learnt that time waits for no-one as I watched my “baby” nephew looking and acting so adult, a few months away from his 18th birthday.
I learnt that I could easily sacrifice some cupboard space in my home and replace it with a dishwasher!
I learnt that mattress protectors really work, you learn this when said 3 year old has a can of coke zero at 8:30 PM and falls asleep at 8:40!
I learnt that I hate queues so much that I would even wake up at sparrows to be at the Spar by 06:55 to ensure I do not have to endure crowds on 24 December!
I learnt that I love Ballito and would move there in a heartbeat (even though it takes Tiger Wheel 1 hour to fix a puncture)!
