Tonight I had a little chuckle as I read a tweet which said "Twitter makes you love people you've never met and Facebook makes you hate people you actually know." ~ Scotty Rosenberg - I thought it really funny and even re-tweeted it and posted it on my Facebook profile.
However, soon it got me thinking, how true this statements is! Lets face it most the people we follow are celebrities and wanna be celebs - some of them we grow to love because of what they tweet and others we will keep following for the sensationalists they are. At the end of the day we end up buying more and more in to them....then there is Facebook! For most of us, it is people who are our friends, for some it's a contest to see how high they can get their friend numbers to, but for most of us I think it is a place where we start to think we must have the most boring lives out! And yep I have to admit I have considered deleting a person or two who constantly feel the urge to tell you about their designer labels, in their designer car, in their designer freaking shoes, chatting from their top of the range designer freaking phone - ok so like I said, I have considered deleting them because, well simply because I am jealous! There is just that little green monster that pops out until I think if your life is really so great why do you need to tell everyone about all these things?Beside that, I have come to realise why some folk never made it from my past to my present, they are opinionated, judgemental son of a bitches who IN MY OPINION should not have made it to anyone's present! Their updates and comments are generally just to cause kak and they hardly ever have the balls to stand up for what they have started.
To cut a long story short, I long for the Facebook that was not about telling everyone how far you ran, how long you gymmed, how awesome your out the box BMW is - how you just blew R10 000 because you were bored. Why has it become a place to try prove you are better than the Jones?
Anyway that is my little bitch, from my falling apart laptop (and that's no joke - can you believe the disk thingy mabobby fell off and I don't know where), sitting in at my very uncomfortable oregan pine (LOOK alike table) in my scrappy old house clothes and whilst I did step out of the hairdresser a little earlier, you would never know it as my hair is bunched up on my head in a clip as it was way more important to come home and jump in the pool with my boys than to worry about my how my hair looked.
To real life, crazy families, boring afternoons, muffin tops, normal cars and all those things which you are apparently not allowed to have on Facebook, ching ching! With or without them, I am truly blessed x
